Apologies if this has already been widely talked about on lj, but it's probably an important enough idea to stand repeating.
Simon Weston (the guy who was badly burnt on the Sir Galahad ship in the Falklands) has put his name to a (imho) really good idea:
ICE stands for In Case of Emergency and using that as a first name you input it into your phone along with the number of one or more people you'd like to be contacted - In Case of Emergency - this has come out of the London bombings last week. The injured people may have had phones with them, but how do you know from a list of names and numbers which is THE ONE that needs to be contacted. I've now set this up on each of our mobile phones - I'venot only given
poliphilo 's number on my phone but my brother's too. On his I've put mine and his sister's and the one in the car I've put both of ours and our sibling.
What do you think? Good idea or crackpot scheme?
