I went for my 'assessment' this morning with the physio and he gave me my injections there and then. I have to rest for 24 hours and then carry on as normal. He's not sure how much effect they'll have - it could be 6 weeks to 6 months, but he was good. He reckons my hips themselves are fine and I won't need new ones for the forseeable future. What I have is bursitis. The little sacs that perform the 'slide and glide' of the hip under the skin is inflamed and I'aint sliding or gliding. So I've slept most of the afternoon - extra morphine at lunchtime and have only moved off the bed to write this.
poliphilo has fixed my lunch and my tea and made sure I've had drinks - when I've been awake - and will tell me off if I'm not back resting them soon.
Breakfast: cottage cheese with pineapple & orange.
Lunch: chicken salad, cherry yogurt. kinder egg.
Evening: smoked salmon & oatcakes.
Drinks: 2 large decaf coffees, 1/2 pint slimline tonic 1 liter iced water.
More extra morphine in the night but although I'm in pain now I know that at least for a little while after tonight I'm going to be a lot better. The physio suggested I might go to the Pain Clinic and see if they can help any in pain control - he thinks I rely too much on morphine.
