Yesterday's food

Welcome back live journal.  poliphilo was a bit like a caged tiger yesterday, it was awful without lj - we had to talk to one another  (lol).  It's strange how we come to rely on our computers, it was like suddenly being cut off from the world - a bit like being snowed in completely. 

So we watched a couple of movies.  Since I've been staying up later we've been watching more dvds.  We bought a whole lot of Hitchcock movies & I've just bought poliphilo a set of Dennis Potter TV plays & serials and 3 Louis Bunuel movies. 

Why is it that smoke alarms always seem to let you know that their batteries need changing at about 5 in the morning?  We changed one a few weeks ago and then this week the other one woke us up with its beeping.

 

Breakfast 20 grams protein powder, 1 cup strawberries, 1 teaspoon reduced sugar blackcurrant jam.

Mid morning:  10 grams of smoked salmon & 1 oz cheese (sleepy)

Lunch:  Steamed salmon in dill sauce, 12 sprouts, 1 nectarine, homemade unsweetened applesauce in yogurt

Evening:  1 cup Cottage cheese, 1 mandarin orange, 3 pineapple slices.  Applesauce in 1/4 cup cottage cheese.

Drinks: 2 liters of iced water, 1/2 pint slimline tonic with lime, 2 large herbal teas.

Exercising

I've started taking my exercising seriously.  I have sopme exercises taken from a book called Stop the Insanity by Susan Powter where she has modified exercises for people who are very overweight - like doing press-ups against a wall instead of on the floor. 

Whilst I was using my walking machine poliphilo  snapped an action shot:

Today's food

A nice quiet day. I heard from my sister-in-law, Ruth, for the first time since the New Year. She and my bro have been in France with friends checking that the friends holiday cottage was okay. It cost less for the flights on one of the low cost airlines than it would for them to go to London on the train. Apparently the sun shone and when it was at its height they could sit out on the patio - in jumpers - to sip their vino.

Breakfast: 30 grams protein powder, 1 cup strawberries, 1 teaspoon blackcurrant jam - low sugar.

Lunch: Fried tofu & fried tomatoes in black bean sauce, with a side salad + 2 chapatis which I threw away.

Snack: 1 nectarine & 1 ounce low fat cheese

Evening: 1 cup cottage cheese, 1 cup pineapple, 1 mandarin orange, 3 macedamia nuts, 2 soy links, 1/4 cup applesauce.

Snack: 1 peach

Drinks: 2+ liters of water, 1/2 pint slimline tonic with lime, 3 large herbal teas (by large I mean in a beaker with 2 tea bags rather than a cup with 1)
