Everytime I start a new healthy eating regime I get aches and pains and a lot of cold symptoms. And that's how I feel today. This is where I usually give up. I decide that I feel so rough that I need a comforting meal - and bang goes the healthy eating.
Well not this time.
poliphilo has wandered in a time or two (our computers are in different rooms) to say 'poor Ailz' & give me a hug (another one needed Pol).
This time I will put up with the sweats & shivers and aches - O yes I will - and eat healthy. - I think I 'm trying to convince myself (lol)
Before I start on today's food I just want to say that a. I'm feeling better than I was earlier, still a bit shivery, but happy, because b. I can manage on a lot less food than I thought.
Before the healthy eating I would often get hypoglycaemic attacks before lunch and my evening meals. This meant that my blood sugar dropped to below 3.4 and I would go very shaky, and start to sweat and et that way that I couldn't speak, I would stammer - and become very bad tempered. The only thing to do was to eat. I've even had a hypo just after I've finished eating.
Yet since the healthy eating my blood sugar has behaved beautifully. It’s slightly lower at the 2 hour mark but holds steady and hasn't yet one below 4.5 before eating. One thing about the Zone diet was that it was supposed to be good for type 2 diabetics and it seems to be true.
Breakfast: 20 grams Protein powder, 1 cup fruit juice from can of strawberries.
Lunch: 4 oz tuna steak with hot tasting seasoned oil, salad, apple.
Evening: 1 cup low fat cottage cheese 2 half pears from a tin in juice & a little juice.
